DreamHack Open September 2021 announced

Hopefully direct invites to the event will make qualifier conflicts a nonissue for Frag 15 attendees.

DreamHack have announced the details for DreamHack Open September 2021, including dates for both open qualifiers and the closed qualifier.

As Dust2.us alumnus Danish "Nohte" Allana aptly pointed out, there is complete overlap between the announced Closed Qualifier dates for DreamHack Open September and Fragadelphia 15, which is set to double as the North American qualifier for entry into October's BLAST Premier: Fall Showdown.

The dates for the DreamHack Open September series are as follows:

Open Qualifier 1 September 2-3rd
Open Qualifier 2 September 4-5th
Closed Qualifier September 13-16th
Main Event September 22-26th

In a region struggling for opportunities for teams on the cusp of breaking through to ESL Pro League and other top tier events, it remains a significant problem that some North American teams will have to pick and choose which opportunities for international experience they want to leverage their limited resources toward pursuing.

DreamHack Open June 2021 was won by Extra Salt following a 3-0 sweep of O PLANO in the grand final. The winner of DreamHack Open September 2021 will face Josh "oSee" Ohm and friends for an automatic berth to IEM Fall 2021 North America on the line.

The prize pool for DreamHack September 2021 will be:

1. $35,000 + 100 ESL Pro Tour Points
2. $15,000 + 80 ESL Pro Tour Points
3-4. $6,000 + 40 ESL Pro Tour Points
5-6. $2,500 + 20 ESL Pro Tour Points
7-8. $1,500

Registration for the first open qualifier is now open and can be accessed here. South African side ATK, Party Astronauts, and GGPR are some of the teams already registered for the event.
