Twistzz led the way for Liquid in August

Twistzz leads August player ranking

Liquid's cup runneth over in August as three of their players achieved top ten placements in our monthly ranking.

Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken has topped the August player ranking with a 1.20 rating, dethroning his new teammate, Michael "Grim" WInce, who led the leaderboard in the previous two months. The addition of the former Triumph star seemed to revitalize Liquid as a whole, with Jonathan "ElIGE" Jablonowski being the runner-up this month with a 1.19 rating and Grim placing in seventh with a 1.15 rating.

Events that were factored into the creation of this ranking include Mythic Summer Series Cup 3, ESEA MDL Season 33 Finals, the open and closed qualifiers for IEM New York, ESEA Advanced Season 34 playoffs, the FunSpark ULTI Qualifier, DreamHack Open Summer, ESEA Summer Cash Cup 1 and 2, ESEA MDL Season 34 Relegation, and ESL One Cologne.

The Canadian headshot machine's top performance for the month was a result of his stellar showings in DreamHack Open Summer and ESL One Cologne, where he helped Liquid to second place finishes with 1.23 and 1.18 ratings, respectively. EliGE was not far behind as he was also a pivotal piece behind Liquid's success, averaging 1.21 and 1.18 ratings in the same two events.

Josh "oSee" Ohm demonstrated a return to form, achieving a 1.35 rating over nine maps in Cloud9's FunSpark ULTI Qualifier effort despite the team's eventual third place finish. The AWPer also put up solid numbers in ESL One Cologne (1.17) and DreamHack Open Summer (1.07), putting himself just below EliGE in performance for the month.

A trio of former ESEA Advanced Season 34 playoff competitors were next on the list, with Josh "pwny" VanGorder and Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney helping their sides qualify for MDL Season 35. Although ImPerium missed out on attaining promotion, Reece "Wilky" Wilkerson was a standout performer for the roster, posting a 1.14 rating over ten maps in the team's MDL Relegation bid.

Grim continued to show promise following his addition to Liquid, although it was evident he was no longer the star of his team as his numbers dipped from previous 1.30+ highs to a 1.15 rating. Just below Grim sat New England Whalers member Jonathan "djay" Dallal, while Erick "Xeppaa" Bach and CLASIA's Kinship teammate Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield rounded out the list with 1.14 ratings.
