neptune and co. are now looking for a new home after strong showings under Recon 5
Recon 5 have confirmed with Dust2.us that they have parted ways with their CS:GO lineup. The squad had been part of Recon 5 since February 4th, being signed at the start of ESEA MDL Season 33.
The news comes less than two weeks after long-time lineup member Carson "nosraC" O'Reilly left Recon 5 to join Levitate, before finding himself out of the team nine days later.
In their first MDL season, Recon 5 exceeded expectations, making playoffs following a 16-3 regular season. Recently, in ESEA MDL Season 34 Recon 5 finished in third place, following wins over Swedish Canadians and Levitate before being eliminated by runners-up Mythic.
Recon 5 provided Dust2.us with a statement regarding the release of their CS:GO team:
We absolutely appreciate everything they have done for us and we love them all. They are fantastic players with each individual bringing something unique to the table. We are deeply saddened to have let them go as they brought us incredible happiness. Their talent has nothing to do with our decision, rather, the unfortunate circumstances surrounding COVID-19. We have had to make tough decisions and have held on for as long as we could. However, at this time, we are in no position to provide the CS:GO team with what they deserve as players. We know these players have a high skill set, an incredible work ethic, and professionalism. We know that they won't have any trouble finding a new organization and we will gladly provide any recommendations for them.
Dust2.us reached out to the lineup for comment and did not hear back at the time of publication.
ex-Recon 5 are now:
- Riley "Reality" Fusch
- Dominic "JazzPimp" Dimpfel
- Jet "jet-" Gao
- Jason "neptune" Tran
ex-Recon 5 will be looking for a new home and a fifth player prior to the start of ESEA MDL Season 35 on August 31st.
