jdm64 reportedly will not be continuing with Envy

Report: jdm64 lounging out of Envy

In a time-honored tradition, the team that trace their lineage to Splyce are looking at a change before a Relegation tournament.

A report from Jarek "DeKay" Lewis earlier today revealed that Envy are "exploring replacements" for AWPer Josh "jdm64" Marzano, and that former Bad News Bears member Tyson "TenZ" Ngo was one of the players the team are trying out.

Dust2.us can confirm the report, along with the fact that the source of the rift between jdm64 and Envy stems from a heated exchange with Noah "Nifty" Francis. Both players joined the team when the organization signed the former core of Splyce, who have since been replaced by a trio of new players.

Since re-entering CS:GO, Envy shone brightest at the Americas Minor under the leadership of Finn "karrigan" Andersen, but have primarily failed to impress before or since. Most recently, they exited the Closed Qualifier for ESL One Cologne in 5-6th place, while fielding coach Zachary "Eley" Stauffer in place of Nifty.

With jdm64 on the outs, Envy would have the following roster:

  • United States Noah "Nifty" Francis
  • United States Jacob "FugLy" Medina
  • United States Sam "s0m" Oh
  • Canada Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor
  • United States Zachary "Eley" Stauffer (Coach)

In keeping with the legacy of Splyce, making a change at this point would impact the team for ESL Pro League Pre-Relegation. By virtue of being winless in their group, Envy would join INTZ, Lazarus, and the runner-up of MDL Season 31 in a double-elimination group, with the team who emerges on top securing a spot in EPL next season. The second through fourth place teams would go Relegation, where they will be joined by the third place team from MDL.
