Cyclone blow away the competition at Midwest CS:GO NCS Minor

The Kansas City LAN played host to 15 teams last weekend.

Cyclone have taken first place at the Midwest CS:GO NCS Minor this weekend, overcoming Flamin Hot Waffles in the finals.

Cyclone started their run in Group 3, where they advanced into the playoffs after topping their three-team group. Moving into playoffs, they faced off against Nfinite, claiming victory on Overpass 16-12.

After this they played Ape Squadron, a mix-team featuring Blake "Strings" Stringer, narrowly claiming victory 19-15 on Mirage. 

In the finals, they met Flamin Hot Waffles with the veto taking the two teams to Dust 2, Inferno, and Overpass. Cyclone started the action off by taking Dust 2 16-9. Afterwards, Flamin Hot Waffles were able to answer back with a 16-9 of their own on Inferno.

Moving onto the final map of the event, Cyclone narrowly closed out the series with a 16-14 finish on Overpass to win the event.

The final standings for the top 4 at the NCS Midwest CS:GO 2019 are:

1. United States Cyclone (clone, JackZ, recky, dVeeN, afghan) - $5,000
2. United States Flamin Hot Waffles (madcow, cxzi, swisher, koga, retrQ) - $3,000
3-4. United States Midwest Club Egos (Trickshot, carN, Pure_Penguinz, m4rz, c-dubs) - $1,000
3-4. United States Ape Squadron (stattik, Strings, Toasty, XtaSy, Jr24racing) - $1,000

The next event in the NCS season will be the NCS Academy Bootcamp, which is set to begin on April 6th.
