Liquid's face when the GOAT invests in their company

Liquid parent company aXiomatic receives investment from Michael Jordan

Fellow billionaire David Rubenstein has also placed his stake in the organization.

The race to invest in esports continues, as we've seen rapper Drake become a co-owner of 100Thieves and Cloud9 receiving over $50 million in investment in recent weeks. Now NBA legend Michael Jordan has dipped his toes in the esports waters, investing in Team Liquid parent company aXiomatic Gaming along with David Rubenstein and Declaration Capital.

With the investment aXiomatic is looking to bolster their existing partnerships as well as add to their investor lineup, while maintaining Team Liquid's status as a global competitive esports team and premier esports media brand.

It's currently unknown what sort of changes the team will experience in terms of the CS:GO team, and per Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski from the last time aXiomatic received an influx in investment, "nothing really immediately changed for us when it was first coming together."

Michael Jordan himself commented that he's "excited to expand [his] sports equity portfolio through [his] investment in aXiomatic."

Jordan becomes the second high-profile former NBA player to be involved with Liquid, after Laker legend Magic Johnson. Former big man and current TBS funny guy Shaquille O'Neal is an investor in NRG Esports.
