MDL Season 29 Next Big Caster contestants revealed
ESEA has announced that it has selected its six casters that will compete in Season 29's Next Big Caster initiative, which will see all six casting MDL matches on ESEA's official Twitch account.
The six commentators are:
Alexander "Mauisnake" Ellenberg- Mike "DarfMike" Winnick
- Mitch "MagicHelmetTV" Langford
- Micah Bain
- Matthew "Insomniuhh" Cota
- Jake "Haptix" Irmiter
Of the six talents chosen, Insomniuhh and MagicHelmetTV return to the second phase after making it to Season 27's second phase.
The six casters will cast MDL matches on ESEA's Twitch channel, with the community voting for the best caster at the end of the season. The winner of the poll will be flown out to the Global Challenge venue to join the rest of the casting crew at the event.
The last season to feature the Next Big Caster initiative was Season 27, which saw Roy "StrongLegs" Ahad voted in as the next big caster. After being added on to the official MDL coverage team the following season, he was subsequently banned from the platform for a year on the allegation of abusing his status as a caster for gambling purposes.
