fnatic set to cause a frenzy at IEM Chicago

One of the final two invites to the new IEM stop has been revealed.

ESL have revealed one of the final two invited teams that will be making their way to Chicago in November for a shot at $250,000. A tweet from the IEM Twitter confirmed the additions of the Swedish vikings of fnatic, bringing the total list of known teams up to 9. 

Six of the remaining seven slots at the 16 team tournament will go to the winners of five upcoming regional qualifiers. Only one team from North America will move on from the qualifier to the main event, while European teams will fight over two slots. The North American closed qualifier is set to run from August 23-25th. 

The current team list for IEM Chicago is as follows:

The open qualifier for IEM Chicago is set to begin on August 20th, with signups still open on ESEA's website. A recent change will see four teams advance from the open stage to the closed qualifier, where only one team will move on for a chance to play for $250,000 in Chicago.
