SK won IEM Sydney 2017 in a 3-1 win over FaZe

SK and FaZe invited to IEM Sydney 2018

The finalists from the previous edition will once again battle in out in the down under.

The finalists of IEM Sydney 2017, SK and FaZe, will return to the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, where they will look to take home the lion's share of the $250,000 prize pool.

The number of teams competing at the event in Sydney was doubled compared to the 2017 edition, with SK and FaZe becoming the first two of 16 teams set to compete in May. The event also features a double elimination group stage and a best-of-five Grand Final. This is a result of the standardization of ESL's tournament format in 2018.

The two teams were announced with a few hours in between.  Here is a link to the FaZe announcement tweet: https://twitter.com/IEM/status/968289588467789824

IEM Sydney 2018 will take place from May 1-5, expect more invites and updates on the Online qualifiers in the upcoming weeks.
