Stewie2K was on fire against a lackluster Virtus.pro

Cloud9 and Renegades comfortably take down their opponents

Virtus.pro and TyLoo bowed out of the competition after losses to the North American-based sides.

The fourth round of the StarSeries i-League Season 4 finals saw Cloud9 take on Virtus.pro and TyLoo face Renegades. The American side were set to play Mirage, Train and Cobblestone against the struggling Polish giants.

Cloud9 began Mirage on their CT-side, taking the pistol round and two anti-ecos. Although Virtus.pro secured the first buy round, the next few rounds were very much in the favor of Cloud9. Jake "Stewie2K" Yip and Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham were ruling the roost as the Americans secured the next six rounds without reply.

Virtus.pro did wake up for the next few rounds, as Michał "MICHU" Müller started the small run off for his team. With the Polish team collecting five rounds in total, they were firmly back in the game. But Stewie2K essentially claimed the final round of the half for his team to keep them 10-5 up.

The second half began with Cloud9 starting a strong T-side, with Timothy "autimatic" Ta taking a key role on the pistol round. From there Cloud9 comfortably secured match point, and although Filip "NEO" Kubski secured a 1vs2 to keep his team in it, the Americans took the game 16-6 in the following round.

Train commenced with Cloud9 taking the pistol and two further anti-eco rounds, in a similar repeat to the first map. Although Virtus.pro secured the first buy round, the American side instantly came back to reassert dominance in the half.

Although Virtus.pro secured two further rounds in the half, including a vintage Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski 4k, they were on the wrong end of a Deagle-eco as Cloud9 went all the way to the half, as autimatic and Stewie2K lead the scoreboard for their side at 12-3.

The second half began with Cloud9 quickly, and swiftly, securing the pistol and two anti-eco rounds. As Tarik "tarik" Celik's men reached map, match and series point the inevitable occurred when the Polish side was on an eco. The Americans claimed Train 16-3.

Renegades showed a strong performance against their familiar Asian Minor opponents

The other stream saw TyLoo and Renegades take battle, also with their tournament lives on the line. The two sides faced off on Mirage, Cobblestone and Cache.

Renegades began the game on their T-side, taking the pistol round by instantly losing out to TyLoo's eco. But the Chinese team were unable to make anything out of that slip up, as Renegades came back in with an eco of their own and were then pushing into to the lead. With Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad leading the charge for his team, Renegades were in the driving seat for the half.

But TyLoo weren't backing down just yet poking through some of their own rounds throughout, including a round where Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand secured four.  But with Justin "jks" Savage playing strong for his team as well, it was the Renegades ahead at the half with a 9-6 score.

The second half began with Renegades taking the pistol and anti-eco rounds on their CT-side, and then pushed on to match point three rounds after that. Renegades teetered over the edge of taking the game thanks to Aaron "AZR" Ward salvaging a 2v4. TyLoo could only prevent the end for one round before the Australians took the final round for a 16-7 win.

Cobblestone began with TyLoo taking the CT-side pistol and anti-eco rounds, and Ke "Mo" Liu was looking on fire as the Chinese team were looking likely to overturn the previous map's result. But from there it was just an Australian color.

Renegades secured all but one of the remaining rounds in that half, with Noah "Nifty" Francis and co. comfortably taking control of the match. With AZR and jks performing at their top levels, Renegades secured an 11-4 lead at the half.

Renegades began the second half with the CT-side pistol round and anti-ecos, before TyLoo secured the first buy round and started a run of their own. With the Chinese team looking to get back into the game, Renegades killed the dream by reaching match point.

But it wasn't over just yet. The Chinese side won their force to push Renegades to the death, securing the next five rounds as Kevin "xccurate" Susanto seemed to improve his performance, making it difficult for the Australian side who were looking to win the game. But Renegades secured it right at the death, to take the map 16-13.
