Two teams failing to re-register sees a smaller playing field for the ESL Pro League

ESL Pro League Season 7 set to only feature 12 NA teams

The announcement from ESL confirms the spots from CLG and Misfits will not be replaced this time around.

The teams competing in season seven of the ESL Pro League have been confirmed by the tournament operator today. The key part of the announcement states that there will only be 12 teams competing in the North American division this season.

The reasoning behind the reduction of teams competing is down to Misfits and CLG not renewing or transferring their team licenses. ESL have also stated that "this adjustment will affect the structure of the season finals, which will be announced in the coming days." Whether or not the league will remain at 12 teams will be re-evaluated before Season 8.

The full list of teams competing in the upcoming ESL Pro League are as follows:

United States Cloud9 compLexity United States Dignitas

Denmark OpTic  Australia Renegades Brazil SK
United States Splyce United States Rogue Canada Ghost

The season is set to begin this Tuesday, with SK and Cloud9 being the league's opening match. Details on how to watch can be found on the ESL Pro League website.
