North American CounterStrike has never felt this good

For the first time (offline) since the Major, American champions Cloud9 were set to take on the Brazilian legends of SK. The two sides were looking to win this upper bracket final match to qualify straight to the grand final tomorrow. The two were to face off on Overpass, Inferno and Mirage.

SK started their T-side off with the pistol round, following it up with the two anti-eco rounds. The first buy round went the way of the Americans, from which they started a streak of six rounds, with Timothy "autimatic" Ta and Jake "Stewie2K" Yip making key plays in multiple rounds.

But the Brazilians weren't dropping out just yet, coming back into the game with a run of their own. With three rounds to theirselves, posted up with a Epitacio "TACO" de Melo 4k, they evened the game up 6-6. But from there Cloud9 went to the half in the advantage, taking the final three rounds for a 9-6 lead.

SK kicked the second half off with the pistol round, followed up with the first anti-eco. But Cloud9 were out for blood, successfully forcing up in the third round to start extending their lead. Tarik "tarik" Celik and his team secured round after round, after round, taking map point after six unreturned rounds.

With Cloud9 close to securing their opponents map pick, SK halted their onslaught for one single round, before Will "RUSH" Wierzba took four kills to secure Overpass 16-9 for the Major champions.

Inferno commenced with Cloud9 securing their T-side pistol round, followed up with the two anti-ecos as well as the first full buy round. Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo secured three kills on the following eco round to prevent Cloud9 from running off into the sunset, taking two more rounds, the last with TACO taking four kills.

But Cloud9 came back to take the next four rounds in a row, making sure they secured the advantage going into the half. SK followed this run with the next two rounds, before Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham secured three kills to shore up their lead. SK did manage to take the final round of the half, but the Americans were the ones who took a 9-6 lead at the half.

SK take down North, to upper bracket final

The second half saw Cloud9 secure the second pistol round on their CT-side, followed up with the next two rounds. With SK's forcebuy backfiring, Cloud9 extended their lead without much response. With autimatic showing up for his team in this map, the American side were looking likely to take a lot of rounds.

But SK have a reputation for a reason, and with that in mind comfortably secured the next two rounds sending Cloud9 to an eco. But Skadoodle, who saved an M4A4 from the previous round, secured a 3k to clutch out the game in a round very reminiscent of a recent tournament.

Even though SK picked up the round immediately following, tarik picked up a 4k followed by a 3k to secure the final two rounds for his team. This saw Cloud9 secure a 16-9 win, taking a 2-0 victory over their opponents.
