mixwell pondering his next career move

mixwell no longer with OpTic

After nearly two years with the organization, the Spanish player is no longer a brick in the #GreenWall.

OpTic Gaming have announced that they have parted ways with Óscar "mixwell" Cañellas, who joined the organization in April of 2016, back when they still fielded their first North American roster. mixwell soon followed with an announcement of his own:

With the change, OpTic's roster is as of now:

  • Sweden Adam "friberg" Friberg
  • Aleksi "allu" Jalli
  • Denmark Emil "Magisk" Reif
  • Kevin "HS" Tarn
  • United States Chet "ImAPet" Singh (Coach)

The move comes after the team had pulled out of several qualifiers and cs_summit 2 in the new year, and amid reports from Jarek "DeKay" Lewis that both coach Chet "ImAPet" Singh and Estonian rifler Kevin "HS" Tarn are pursuing routes outside of the OpTic organization.

With the next season of ESL Pro League starting a week from today, and the league's trade window coming to a close, we can expect the update on OpTic's  roster in the coming days. As of now, the organization and team are slated to participate in ESL Pro League Season 7 North America, a division in which myriad questions currently are swirl because of roster and organizational uncertainty.

For his part, mixwell did not reveal any of his plans for the future, though it is certain a player of his caliber and pedigree will generate interest from international contenders. If nothing materializes for the Spanish player, his next event would be the WESG World Finals in China, which he and a mixteam of his countrymen qualified for.
