JT's mix of Extra Salt, FURIA, and Cloud9 VALORANT players defeated EliGE's Liquid mix

Johnny "JT" Theodosiou's Under 23 mix emerged as the victors of Mythic's inaugural Content Cup last night, defeating the Liquid mix LULQUID helmed by  Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski 2-1.

Prior to the event kicking off, David "DAVEY" Stafford's Peeker's Advantage and Max "SolGoat" Wallace's Brazen gained entry via the open qualifier.

FaNg: "In a couple more weeks the true form of the team is going to come out"

The other four teams consisted of Mythic themselves, once again utilizing Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund as their fifth member, FPLSTARS, based around a core of Secret Club players, deez, featuring Michael "Grim" Wince, Josh "oSee" Ohm, and Ricky "floppy" Kemery, and finally Superb Owls, featuring Logan "Voltage" Long.

The eight team field was divided into two groups of four, which played out in a round-robin best of one fashion. The groups played out as would be expected, with heavy hitters Under 23 and LULQUID finishing with flawless 3-0's — though they were given scares by Superb Owls and FPLSTARS, respectively. The qualified sides of Brazen and Peeker's Advantage finished on the other end of the spectrum, failing to secure wins.

Thus the winner take all best of three grand final pitted Under 23 against LULQUID on Nuke, Inferno, and Overpass.

Despite a server-leading 25 kills from Jake "Stewie2K" Yip on Nuke, the twin threats of benched FURIA member Paytyn "junior" Johnson and former Chaos member Nathan "leaf" Orf helped Under 23 secure the map 16-11.

LULQUID bounced back with a 16-9 victory on Inferno, aided by Tarik "tarik" Celik and EliGE amassing 28 and 25 kills, respectively, along with three triple kills each. JT and junior led the way for Under 23 in the loss.

The decider of Overpass wound up being a 16-5 bloodbath in the favor of Under 23, as Erick "Xeppaa" Bach showed that he could still do damage after spending time away in VALORANT. tarik and EliGE once again topped the scoreboard for LULQUID.
