Party Astronauts, Triumph, Recon 5, and CNCS Best CS comprise Knights: Revival final four

One of these teams is not like the others.

Two days of play have come and gone in the Knights: Revival event and we have seen the field whittled down to just four teams. Having three ESEA Premier sides remaining isn't all that surprising, but a mix of ESEA Advanced and ESEA Main players have managed to down two Premier sides en route to the fourth semifinal berth.

The most significant result of day one was Big Chillin falling to heretic's daycare center 16-10 on Vertigo. The remainder of the matches saw ESEA Premier teams run right through their opposition without incident.

The first matches of day two featured a number of forfeits, with Party Astronauts and Triumph benefitting from the withdrawal of EXCELLO and YeniCherry, respectively. CENSRD defeated heretic's daycare center on Mirage and Nuke. The latter mix team was comprised of Sean "Subarashii" Tuttle of Triton, Bradley "Slugy" Kohler of Mythic, and free agents Johnny "JDubs" Wu, Everett "Poison" Ivy, and Ian "heretic-" Carfora.

Mythic (featuring Shawn "witmer" Taylor and Stephen "Huston" Huston) dispatched Third Impact in three maps after winning a 16-13 decider on Ancient, and Sweet Tea Party, Recon 5, and RBG all swept Villainous, Counter Nature, and Swagg, respectively.

CNCS Best CS, comprised of former SKDC player Kevin "omniscient" Ma, Valkyrie's King-Lok "k1" Tang and Weijun "KenZ" Zhu,  and Deman's "Ch1py" and "0K1N" claimed their first ESEA Premier victim of the event after defeating GGPR on Vertigo and blowing them out on Mirage. GGPR's roster featured Jack "xCeeD" Holiman, who last played for Triumph in January of last year.

CENSRD pushed Party Astronauts to the brink in their quarterfinal series, first forcing a third map and then pushing their ESEA Premier comrades to thirty rounds on the Inferno decider. Gage "Infinite" Green was the difference maker in that decider, he finished with 30 frags to see his team through to the final day of play.

CNCS Best CS grabbed an opening map victory against the Mythic mix on Vertigo, but were dismantled by the stream team on Ancient. Once again, the series moved to an Inferno decider, where CNCS Best CS held off a late surge from Mythic to force overtime, where they eventually prevailed. Erik "fl0m" Flom's monstrous 36-frag effort wasn't enough to see Mythic through to the semifinals, while omniscent led the CNCS Best CS side with 28 kills in the victory.

Recon 5 opened their series against RBG with a close Inferno victory, but then dropped the subsquent contest on Overpass to their ESEA Premier contemporaries. The venue for the series decider was Mirage in this case, which Recon 5 claimed on the back of a 10-5 CT-side in the first half. Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan and Colby "Walco" Walsh went blow for blow with 23 kills apiece in the third map, but it was the former's side that would advance to day three of play.

Finally, Triumph were the beneficiaries of yet another forfeit, this time by Sweet Tea Party, to secure their semifinal berth against Recon 5.

Today's semifinal matchups are:

United States Party Astronauts vs. Canada CNCS Best CS
United States Triumph vs. United States Recon 5

Party Astronauts and CNCS Best CS was scheduled to begin at 1PM EDT but is just now getting started. Triumph and Recon 5 will square off beginning at 3:30 EDT. First place will receive $12,000, second will earn $6,000, and third will take home $2,000.
