After holding out as long as he thought possible, Cooper will officially leave CS:GO

Cooper officially leaves CS:GO

After more than a year of uncertainty the sniper has pulled the trigger.

Austin "Cooper" Abadir has become the latest noteworthy name to make the switch from CS:GO to VALORANT with the intent to search for greener pastures. It's been no secret that this was coming, as Cooper left Triumph nearly two weeks ago in the wake of their well-documented financial troubles.

Cooper has been linked to rumors of a switch before, but has explored seemingly every option prior to reaching this point. He played on multiple iterations of Swole Patrol, Ze Pug Godz, and, most recently, Triumph. Since being released by eUnited in March 2020 Cooper has only had a steady, contracted income in CS:GO for three months, with Triumph prior to their recent hardships.

Cooper did stick around to help the funny deer team finish fourth in ESEA Premier Season 37, but constantly teetering on the edge of being able to play CS:GO with the security of a stable contract has taken the same toll that it has on many others and pushed him to join his brother Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir in the Riot Games title.

Cooper averaged a 1.00 rating in ESEA Premier Season 37, a bit of a drop from his Season 36 performance, where he was rated as one of the top ten players in Premier. He finished that season with a 1.26 rating over the course of thirty maps.

Triumph's roster for the ongoing Mythic Summer Series 2021 Cup 1 event has been:

  • United States David "cynic" Polster
  • United States Brendan "Bwills" Williams
  • United States Tyler "tweiss" Weiss
  • United States Jeff "RZU" Ngo
  • Omar "3ARK00Z" Elyyan
  • United States Koby "kobruh" Higgs (Stand-in)

Triumph will finish their Mythic Summer Series 2021 Cup 1 campaign against Party Astronauts tomorrow at 5PM EDT. They defeated Rectify and CENSRD en route to the grand final.
