High Coast crush Not Triumph to win Mythic Winter Cup

djay in particular was in excellent form as his team outperformed Not Triumph.

High Coast have won Mythic Winter Cup following a clean 2-0 victory over Not Triumph, taking home the $3,000 first place prize.

The series began with High Coast mounting a nearly perfect T-side on their map pick of Overpass, winning the first eleven rounds in a row while Not Triumph struggled to answer back. This one-sided start to the series was underscored by Jonathan "djay" Dallal not dying until the tenth round while managing to rack up fourteen kills in the process. In the twelfth round, Not Triumph finally stopped the onslaught after which they won the next three rounds to prevent a complete blowout.

After switching sides, things were looking up for Not Triumph as they won their T-side pistol round powered by Danny “cxzi” Strzelczyk claiming a 3k with the Glock. In the first buy round, High Coast were quick to respond thanks to a strong B-site 4k hold by Rodrigo "RCF" Figueiredo and Brandon "bew" Roberts. High Coast carried this momentum into the following two rounds, denying Not Triumph a bomb plant on both occasions to climb up to 14-5. As their chances of winning the map dwindled, Not Triumph mounted a minor resurgence and won the next three rounds before having their comeback cut short as High Coast won the final two rounds to win Overpass 16-8.

Moving on to Inferno, High Coast continued their strong form from the previous map as they won five out of the first six rounds on their CT-side, bolstered by a round two 3k by RCF on the MP9. Four of the next five rounds were won by Not Triumph to close the gap to a single round after which High Coast claimed the last four to win the half 10-5.

The second half began with Not Triumph in the driver's seat off the back of a 1v2 post-plant CT-side clutch by Wesley "viz" Harris, after which Not Triumph won the next two rounds without much difficulty. Not Triumph were quickly overpowered once High Coast's economy was built up, as High Coast won five rounds in a row to climb up to 15-9. Not Triumph finally came back with a round of their own before High Coast won the map, series, and event in round 26 with a 3k B-site post-plant defense by Josh "PwnAlone" Pigue.
