Keiti tops December player ranking

She becomes the first female player to top the Dust2.us monthly ranking.

Kaitlin "Keiti" Boop has emerged at the top of our December player ranking, posting an average rating of 1.21 over the course of 14 maps last month.

The events that were included in determining this ranking were ESEA Winter Cash Cup 1, ESEA Winter Cash Cup 2, IEM Global Challenge, DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 North America and Europe, and MIDNITE Nine to Five 7.

Keiti's best performance of the month came in a 2-0 sweep of GGPR in the semifinals of ESEA Winter Cash Cup 1, where she tallied 36 kills in a double-overtime affair on Mirage followed by 35 kills in regulation on Overpass.

ex-Chaos was best represented but Keiti stood tall at the top

Four members from the ex-Chaos roster are featured in this month's player ranking based solely on their victorious 13-map campaign in DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 North America. Erick "Xeppaa" Bach checked in as their top performer in the whole event with a 1.17 rating, closely followed by Nathan "leaf" Orf at 1.15, who was the highest-rated player in their 3-2 grand final victory over oNe. The pair finished second and third in the monthly rankings.

Jonathan "Jonji" Carey and Anthony "vanity" Malaspina finished eighth and tenth in our rankings with 1.08 and 1.06 ratings, respectively. ex-Chaos were supposed to play in the IEM Global Challenge but were replaced by BIG after the team chose not to travel due to leaf's high risk status with regard to COVID.

The American contigent of Yeah that squared off with ex-Chaos in the DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 semifinal, Michael "Swisher" Schmid and Brandon "bew" Roberts, both finished with identical 1.10 ratings to place them at fifth and sixth on our monthly ranking. The pair won ESEA Winter Cash Cup 2 and placed 3-4th at DreamHack Masters Winter after losing to the eventual champions.

The duo of Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski and Keith "NAF" Markovic played 15 maps between DreamHack Masters Winter Europe and the IEM Global Challenge. Their campaign in the former event was cut short early in the group stage following back-to-back losses to mousesports and Astralis, but they managed a runner-up finish to Astralis in the latter after dispatching Heroic, FURIA, and BIG. The pair finished with 1.11 and 1.09 ratings, good for fourth and seventh in our rankings, respectively.

Ricky "floppy" Kemery finished December with a 1.06 rating, placing him even with vanity to round out the list and the year. Cloud9 made the playoffs in DreamHack Masters Europe, but were swept 2-0 and eliminated by mousesports. floppy's best performance of the event was a 1.31 rating against a depleted ENCE side.

This concludes the 2020 series of monthly player rankings from Dust2.us. Keep an eye out for our yearly ranking article tomorrow!
