GGPR and GSG9 to MDL over SKDC and Rise

On the other side of the coin, ex-ImPerium and Vireo.pro have been sent down to Advanced after losses to ex-Recon 5 and Kinship.

The second day of ESEA MDL Season 35 Relegation has come to an end, seeing Advanced upstarts GGPR and GSG9 secure spots in the next season of the league. Meanwhile, ex-ImPerium and Vireo.pro have been relegated down to Advanced after losses in the lower bracket.

GGPR made quick work of SKDC in their upper bracket match, not allowing more seasoned squad double-digits on either map. In what has become a common sight, it was youngsters Jeorge "jeorgesnorts" Endicott and Victor "v1c" T. who led the way for Chase "lowrider" Releford's side.

The second upper bracket between GSG9 and Rise was a more contested affair, with Rise reaching double-digits on both maps and forcing overtime on Inferno after squandering a 5-0 lead.

Both teams displayed solid defenses on Train, with GSG9 heading into the half with a dominant 13-2 lead over Filip "Feedalee" Mitevski and co. Ryan "ROBBY1" Robshaw's side needed just about every single one of those rounds as well, as Rise notched ten CT-side rounds of their own before GSG9 were able to bring the map and series over the line.

Despite Carter "CarterJ" Richardson not experiencing the same degree of internet trouble as he did in the previous round, ex-ImPerium still got use out of Matthew "Killpo1" in place of Toryn "cuze" Cartier in their match against ex-Recon 5. They started off well on Mirage with an 11-4 Terrorist side, but Soham "valens" Chowdhury's squad returned the favor and then some to steal the map 16-13.

Dust2 saw the opposite scenario unfold, with ex-Recon 5 taking the first half 12-3, allowing them to pick up isolated rounds to secure the map and series.

After the loss, Ian "heretic" Carfora indicated that he would be leaving CS:GO, much like former teammates CarterJ and cuze.

Though Vireo.pro were originally slated to use Teric "Bibby" Ingram and Colin "Koi" Thor in their match against Kinship, they ultimately showed up with their roster from the regular season. The teams then traded 9-6 halves on Nuke before Kinship were able to sweep overtime to take the series lead.

Despite jumping out to a 4-0 lead on Inferno, that was the bulk of the rounds that Vireo.pro would get as Terrorists, as Kinship rallied to be up 10-5 at the half. After Christopher "Swahn" Swahn's men took four of their own to open the second half, Vireo.pro were able hold for five more rounds before  ultimately succumbing 16-10.
