FACEIT have announced the launch of "FACEIT Collegiate", a $55,000 initiative with leagues in CS:GOVALORANT, and League of Legends.

The CS:GO Collegiate league will offer a prize pool of $30,000, with two divisions open for competitors - Contenders, which will be more for casual competition, and Premier, for top-tier competition. Both divisions will play out over ten weeks, utilizing a Swiss system format to determine which teams will advance to the single-elimination playoff bracket, set to play out in Spring 2021.

The schedule for the regular season looks as follows:

  • Match 1: November 5th - November 10th
  • Match 2: November 12th - November 19th
  • Match 3: December 3rd - December 8th
  • Match 4: January 7th - January 12th
  • Match 5: January 14th - January 19th
  • Match 6: January 21st - January 26th
  • Match 7: January 28th - February 2nd
  • Match 8: February 4th - February 9th
  • Match 9: February 11th - February 16th
  • Match 10: February 18th - February 23rd

The playoff bracket will play out over the course of March and April, with the championship round set to take place sometime shortly afterwards. Currently, the University of California San Diego is the only team signed up to compete in the Premier League, with RBG AWPer Jerric "wiz" Jiang being the most notable name on the team's roster.

Registration for leagues will remain open until November 1st, with further information regarding eligibility available on the FACEIT Collegiate tournament organizer page.
