With only 46 teams participating in the open bracket, things went as expected for the first two rounds of play.

Round three saw several notable matchups take place, including a Rugratz mix featuring Gage "Infinite" Green and Justin "FaNg" Coakley take down Depth, and ex-Warriors International defeat an ex-Recon 5 squad featuring Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen in place of the aforementioned FaNg.

Top Advanced sides GGPR and Revenant managed to notch upset victories over MDL opposition in the forms of Rebirth and RBG, respectively. However, it should be noted that Rebirth used Daniel "tropiiical" Elshani in place of Sean "Inseaniac" Morrison.
