vek and co. have revived the Swedish Canadians moniker albeit with a Russian twist

Sixth Gear drop team

Dust2.us knows that fallout relating to the decision to suddenly replace WolfY with Wolffe led to the team's dismissal.

Dust2.us has learned that Sixth Gear have dropped their team, with the lineup set to play as Russian Canadians while they search for a new organization.

The decision to release the team reportedly came down to a perceived lack of communication between the lineup and the organization following the seemingly sudden decision to replace Adam "WolfY" Andersson with Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield this week.

Dust2.us reached out to the organization for comment but did not receive a reply at the time of publication.

Russian Canadians are now:

  • Canada David "J0LZ" Jolin
  • Canada Alex "vek" Voynov
  • Canada Ian "battery" Yates
  • Canada Wayne "castro" Einarsson
  • United States Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield
  • United States Austin "AAustiN" Urb (Inactive)

The team are already making a good case for themselves, as they reached the quarterfinals of the DreamHack Masters Winter qualifier yesterday, despite fielding Gabe "fenom" Rocha and Arvid "moopey" Samuelson in place of new addition Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield. They will take on Revenant at 6PM EDT today for a spot in the Closed Qualifier alongside Triumph, paiN, Yeah, and oNe.

They also currently have a 4-3 record in ESEA MDL Season 35, with their next match in the league set to take place on October 6th at 9:30 PM EDT against ImPerium.
