ImPerium invited to MDL Season 35 to replace Positive Vibes Only
ESEA have invited ImPerium to compete in ESEA MDL Season 35, Dust2.us has learned. The team will arrive in the league as a replacement for Positive Vibes Only, who disbanded on Thursday after members of the team made the jump to different MDL rosters.
ImPerium were selected as a replacement due to them finishing in fourth place in MDL Season 34 Relegation, just short of securing promotion to the league after they were felled by timbermen in the lower bracket final. Notably, ImPerium were not originally slated to compete in Relegation after they finished in 7-8th place in Advanced Season 34 playoffs, but had the opportunity to compete after ESEA elected not to invite a team and the spot went to the winner of a seventh place tiebreaker match between ImPerium and Addice.
Although ESEA initially intended to simply forfeit Positive Vibes Only from the league, as evidenced by the league standings where all other teams received a default victory, they have backtracked on that decision and instead chosen to offer an opportunity to another team as the season has only recently gotten underway.
ImPerium were forced to add a new player to their roster after Ian "heretic" Carfora linked up with Kinship at the end of the previous season. The team has since enlisted the services of John "yohan" Lee, and will debut in MDL with the following roster:
