GGPR, Folgster International, and Yeah win ESEA lower divisions

The three teams will ply their trade in Advanced alongside a handful of other sides who earned promotion this season.

The playoffs of Season 34 have come to an end for ESEA's lower league divisions, seeing GGPR go undefeated in the upper bracket to win ESEA Main, Folgster International top ESEA Intermediate, and Yeah finish atop ESEA Open.

GGPR's run through the Main bracket saw them start out as the sixth seed, having ended the regular season with a 12-4 record. The top seed, Villainous Academy, found themselves knocked out of the bracket early on, falling from the upper portion in their third round before being felled immediately in the lower bracket.

Despite a number of close shaves and multi-overtime affairs early on, GGPR had an incredibly dominant run through the entirety of the bracket, not dropping a single map en route to a first place finish. The best-of-five grand final saw GGPR enter with a one-map advantage against Random Twitter Org,  and they were quick to secure victory as they brought an end to Mirage 16-13 and Vertigo 16-12 to top the division for Season 34.

The top eight teams from ESEA Main Season 34 are:

    1. United States Good Game PR (lowrider, CuZ1H, Creed, exotic, ohkee) - $3,500
    2. United States Random Twitter Org (dnvr, hoggy, Lokie, HavoK, JGXD) - $2,300
    3. Canada The Jungle (Prorok, mystii, chew, Simper, prevox) - $1,750
    4. United States PreGaming (try, Steedle, BootyLord, zellers, gingaa) - $1,750
5-6. United States Counter Nature (REV, JAM, cloudy, gosha, Eiji_Mikage) - $550
5-6. United States Valkyrie (Zynxx, Irish, Gulu, Waveum, farg) - $550
7-8. United States Kinship Ghost (denz, Pr0mise, AJP, Bezerker, noah1337) - $550
7-8. United States MakeWarNotLove (RGAR, Zeusmeister, FAME, JeorgeSnorts, Zenn) - $550

Meanwhile, Folgster International topped ESEA Intermediate, making a heroic run through the lower bracket after being knocked down in their second matchup. In all, the team played eleven best-of-three series and one best-of-five, with nine of those best-of-three matches coming during their lower bracket run.

The grand final saw Folgster International start off with a one-map disadvantage to Cyberstorm, a price of falling into the lower bracket so early on. Despite the setback, the team were able to fight back into the series, securing a 16-10 win on Mirage before edging out an overtime victory on Nuke to pull ahead. Dust2 was just as keenly contested, but it was still Folgster International who came out on top as they closed out the map in thirty rounds to take the grand final 3-1.

The top eight teams from ESEA Intermediate Season 34 are:

1. United States Folgster International (Folgster, rusteez, 1koala, phean, Fiddlesticks) - $2,750
2. United States Cyberstorm (NunheyTattay, PanniMamu, NuguNaag, AngreziChodu, PhuddiKamaal) - $1,750
3. Canada Freestyle (PeliMonster, vTR_, NOOZ, Kezz, FalkeN) - $1,500
4. United States Kakashi (Psych, Zeklewa, ChrisXCross, SirOdawg, Congala) - $1,500
5-6. United States The Burger People (Pat, EagleEyeFoley, Teque, Richard, Ayohhh) - $500
5-6. Brazil VORTEX (frEE, kashz, seter, GziKa, shdw) - $500
7-8.  Verum (CINDER, Mauw, KoS, zuukY, TiaNastacia) - $500
7-8. United States roblox extreme wrestling (JBa, stanny, KRUSH, Aezy, Rew) - $500

Finally, the Brazilian side of Yeah were forced to play through ESEA Open in hopes of earning a spot in Advanced, making good on their effort as they only dropped a single map through the 256-team single-elimination playoff bracket to qualify.

Almost every single one of Yeah's eight series victories were extremely one-sided, with the majority of competitors being unable to muster more than five rounds against Alef "tatazin" Pereira's troops. The No. 7 seed Dragonborn were the only team that managed a map victory off the Brazilian roster during their semi-final bout, securing a win on Inferno 16-8 before falling on Mirage and Dust2.

In the grand final, Yeah made short work of cz and the boyz, trouncing them with 16-3 wins on Inferno and Train to bring the series to a rapid conclusion. The placement sets Yeah up to play in Advanced for Season 35, where they'll look to secure promotion to MDL.

The top eight teams for ESEA Open Season 34 are:

1. Brazil Yeah (RCF, tatazin, f4stzin, iDk, dumau) - $2,100
2. United States cz and the boyz (cz1, concurring, shock, vader, eef) - $1,500
3-4. United States Dragonborn (eugene, dragonloli49, WiZaRDoFDrAGons, Eric, death1975420) - $1,000
3-4. Canada Tall Ocean Rats (Karrot, cHemo, cyph, stewj, flicky) - $1,000
5-8. United States tNt is Dynamite (HorAig9000, shawstree, Eley, panda$ex, Nostra) - $350
5-8. United States Conviction (Swqft, AWD, Sheeb, Kolsy, Kiss) - $350
7-8. United States Get Me Hype (Temperature, stayfrosty, SecretAgent, headsnap, minecraftgod) - $350
7-8. United States Fragging 4 Retchy (NothingNessOk, kirai, tiktokfan27, core, 512501251251i) - $350

Registration for Season 35 of the ESEA league for new teams will remain open until August 31st at 3 AM EDT.
