di^ and CLG Red have plenty to smile about after coming out on top at DreamHack Showdown Summer

DreamHack Showdown Summer has concluded with CLG Red besting Dignitas fe in the grand final, a rematch of the event's upper bracket final. Dignitas fe earned the berth in the grand final after dispatching Able White with ease.

Dignitas fe absolutely dismantled Able White in the server, only allowing their opponents five rounds in the entire series. Melisa "Theia" Mundorff picked up 40 kills in just 37 rounds to power Dignitas fe to a rematch in the grand final with CLG Red.

Notably, Julie "Bouchard" Bouchard managed just 15 frags and a 0.50 rating in the series, though still finished the event as the highest rated player outside of the two finalist squads.

In the grand final, it was Dignitas fe who picked Train, but they got an identical opening map result as the previous series, a 16-13 CLG Red win. Jennifer "refinnej" Le and Emma "Emy" Choe combined for over 50 kills while Kiara "milk" Makua posted 23 in the loss for Dignitas fe.

Map two was a departure from the close contests the two sides had played in the event up to that poinst, as Dignitas fe managed to steal back CLG Red's map pick of Mirage in convincing fashion - the first map loss of the event for CLG Red. Carolyn "artStar" Noquez and Emmalee "EMUHLEET" Garrido tallied 23 and 21 frags, respectively, and were able to push the series to a decider on Nuke.

In the upper bracket final Nuke required all thirty rounds to separate these two teams, but the grand final took things a step further, as Dignitas fe fought off seven match points to close regulation and force overtime.

Unfortunately for Dignitas fe, they couldn't carry their momentum from regulation into the overtime rounds, and CLG Red swiftly won the needed four rounds and took the map, series, and tournament. refinnej topped the charts for the champions with 30 frags in the decider, while Theia's 33 for Dignitas fe wouldn't be enough.
