CLG Red await DreamHack Summer Showdown grand final opponent

Dignitas fe and Able White will square off for the other grand final berth.

As the final day of competition in DreamHack Showdown Summer arrives, just three teams remain in contention for the $10,000 grand prize. CLG Red have already secured their spot in the grand final after beating Dignitas fe in the upper bracket final. Dignitas fe will be met in the consolidation final by the lower bracket winners, Able White.

That's what she said were in no danger against Dangerous Game, as all five of their players outfragged every player on the opposing side. Dangerous Game put up more of a fight on Train after getting destroyed 16-2 on Inferno, but it wasn't enough to prevent the 2-0 series sweep. Stephanie "missharvey" Harvey topped the server with 48 frags for the victors.

Unlike the other lower bracket semifinal it looked like silhouette was going to push Able White to the brink after they started the series with a dominant 16-5 win on Inferno. However, the story of this series was that none of the maps were close, as silhouette were unable to string together the sixteen rounds that they won in the first map between the latter two maps combined. Julie "Bouchard" Bouchard led the way for Able White with 57 kills in the three-map win.

Once again, this series started with Able White dropping the first map of Inferno, then holding their opposition to just sixteen rounds between the following two maps. That's what she said fared better than silhouette, as they managed to reach double digits on Overpass, but the Train decider was all Able White. Bouchard and Joanne "ri_ri" Tan combined for over forty frags, while two players on That's what she said had five or fewer.

It doesn't get much closer in a 2-0 sweep in regulation than this series between CLG Red and Dignitas fe. CLG eked out a close 16-13 win in the opener on Train and then managed to make things even closer as they completed the sweep using all thirty rounds on Nuke. Jennifer "refinnej" Le had the best performance in the server with 52 kills and a 1.38 rating, but it was Emma "Emy" Choe who top fragged in the pivotal map two for CLG Red. Stand-in Carolyn "artStar" Noquez  was the only player for Dignitas fe who finished the series with a positive KDR, as her team will now face Able White to attempt to earn a rematch with CLG Red.
