Chaos will be rematching Mythic or Recon 5 in the grand finals tonight.

Day two of the ESEA MDL Season 34 playoffs has concluded, seeing Chaos advance to the grand finals, while Mythic and Recon 5 are currently facing off in the consolidation final.

The upper bracket final between Chaos and Mythic went largely as expected, seeing Chaos take down the stream team 2-0 on Dust2 and Train. Of the two maps, Mythic gave Chaos the most trouble on Dust2, managing to narrowly win their T-side 8-7 and climb up to eleven rounds before Chaos outpaced them to take the map 16-13. Chaos' map pick, Train, started off with Mythic up 5-0 before Chaos found their footing and won their T-side 8-7. After this, Chaos mounted a near perfect CT-side, only conceding one round before taking the map 16-8.

The first lower bracket match of last night was similarly one-sided as Recon 5 eliminated Swedish Canadians 2-0, not letting their opponent reach double digits on either map. Starting on Mirage, Swedish Canadians played a close opening half against Recon 5, managing to narrowly be up 8-7 at halftime. After switching sides however, Recon 5 quickly ran away with the map, only conceding one more round before closing out Mirage 16-9.

Moving into Inferno, Recon 5 were dominant on their map pick, giving Swedish Canadians little room to breathe as they powered their way to an 11-4 T-side. On their CT-side, Recon 5 quickly closed out the map 16-7, eliminating Swedish Canadians from playoff contention.

The following match in lower bracket round two went the distance, seeing Levitate narrowly claim a 2-1 upset victory over number one seed New England Whalers. Beginning on Levitate's map pick, Mirage, the two squads were in a dead heat before New England Whalers came out ahead and won their CT-side 8-7. The second half was no different as the two teams were unable to claim more than three rounds in a row. In the 30th round, New England Whalers managed to come out ahead and take their opponent's map pick 16-14.

Moving onto New England Whaler's map pick of Nuke, Levitate quickly made their opponent regret the choice as they as put on a strong CT-side effort to win the half 10-5. After this, they plowed through New England Whaler's defenses to claim six T-side rounds in a row and take the map 16-5. With the series tied up, Train went down to the wire, with the opening half being indecisive as Levitate narrowly won their T-side 8-7. In the second half, the two squads were equally matched until the 25th round, after which Levitate pulled ahead, winning five out of the last six rounds on their CT-side to take the map 16-14 and eliminate New England Whalers.

The final series of the night also went to three maps, seeing Recon 5 ultimately taking down Levitate 2-1. Starting on Levitate's map pick of Mirage, the team looked to redeem themselves after dropping the map in their previous match. Starting off with a strong T-side they claimed a 9-6 lead heading into the second half. Moving onto their CT-side, after an initially strong 5-1 start, the map quickly unraveled for them as Recon 5 struck back and won the next nine rounds in a row to win Mirage 16-14.

After being upset once again on their map pick, Levitate quickly regained composure on Inferno, subjecting Recon 5 to the same treatment as Justin "FaNg" Coakley led his team to a 10-5 lead at the half. Moving into their T-side, Levitate did not give Recon 5 a chance to get back into the map as they won the first four rounds in a row, before resetting Recon 5's economy in the next three rounds and taking the map 16-8.

With one map separating Levitate from claiming their second upset of the night they played a close opening half against Recon 5 on Nuke, winning seven rounds on their T-side. After the two squads switched sides, Recon 5 dominated, only conceding three rounds to Levitate before closing out Nuke 16-9, thus making their way into the consolidation final.
