Recon 5 flawless in Nerd Street Gamers weekend event win
The Nerd Street Gamers event came and went on Saturday, with Recon 5 emerging as champions and earning $900 and a slot in next month's NCS Minor for their troubles.
Recon 5 had a first-round bye, then beat tNt is Dynamite, Third Impact, and RBG to earn a berth in the grand final as the upper bracket champs.
RBG also received a first round bye, then beat Drove here from cali and Warriors International twice, earning them a rematch in the grand final with Recon 5, who had bested them earlier in the upper bracket final.
Armed with a 1-0 map advantage as the upper bracket champs, Recon 5 carried their momentum into the grand final and were able to close out the series with a thirty round victory on Train.
Jadan "HexT" Postma led the server with 32 kills in the loss for RBG, while Dominick "JazzPimp" Dimpfel led a balanced Recon 5 attack with 25 kills. Three of his Recon 5 teammates also eclipsed the 20 kill mark.
