wippie takes over as Rugratz's fifth; tweiss to stay on as backup

wippie has returned to action on the Rugratz PUG lineup.

Maxim "wippie" Shepelev has joined Rugratz on a permanent basis.

Additionally, Alexander "zander" Diaz has told Dust2.us that while Tyler "tweiss" Weiss will no longer be on the starting lineup, he has stayed on as a backup player while he looks for a new team.

zander also told Dust2.us that the reason for the player swap was due to wippie looking for a squad to play with for fun this season, with zander inviting him to the team, noting how much he enjoyed playing with him during their time on blitz reborn.

As for tweiss, zander offered to give up his spot on the team and act as the team's coach to allow tweiss to play, but that idea never came to fruition. However, tweiss refutes this claim, saying that zander never offered to coach or permanently give up his spot, instead offering to let tweiss play sometimes after allegedly unilaterally cutting tweiss.

wippie had been without a team since January 26th, when he stepped down from Chaos due to being unable to move into their team house in Arizona. Thus far he has played with Rugratz in four ESEA MDL Season 34 matches, putting up a noteworthy 1.20 rating.

Rugratz are now officially:

  • United States Joshua "Hunter" Madore
  • Canada Erik "penny" Penny
  • United States Alexander "zander" Diaz
  • Canada Adam "mada" Pampuch
  •  Maxim "wippie" Shepelev
  • United States Tyler "tweiss" Weiss (Backup)

Rugratz currently have a 3-3 record in ESEA MDL Season 34 and are also set to start their Mythic League Invite Division campaign on May 23rd.

Update: An earlier version of this article accidentally mischaracterized the circumstances of tweiss' replacement by wippie due to a failure to report tweiss' perspective on the move. We apologize for the error.
