Bad News Bears to skip MDL Season 34

The league is now down to eighteen teams as the start of the season draws near.

Bad News Bears have chosen to skip participating in ESEA MDL Season 34, Dust2.us has learned. Their decision follows in the footsteps of Triumph, who Dust2.us revealed had also opted out of the training season in an effort to focus on the postponed ESEA MDL Season 33 Global Challenge and the ESL One: Road to Rio yesterday.

As is the case with Triumph, a spot in MDL Season 35 will await the Bad News Bears members should they be unsuccessful in their attempt to qualify for ESL Pro League Season 12. The lack of MDL matches will allow the two teams to put full focus on their Road to Rio matches, as well as their upcoming appearances in the inaugural season of the Mythic League League.

With the departure of the two teams from MDL, Dust2.us has been able to confirm with an ESEA representative that neither team will be replaced for the current season, reducing the total number of teams competing in Season 34 from 20 to 18. The change will result in less matches being played overall, with each team now needing to play 17 matches instead of 19.

As such, the complete team list for ESEA MDL Season 34 looks as follows:

United States Under 21 Brazil oNe
United States Rugratz United States Chaos
United States Recon 5 United States Mythic
United States Monstars United States Keep the Comms Up
Canada District 7 United States Big Frames
Canada Swedish Canadians United States New England Whalers
United States ETHEREAL Infinity
United States Trivium Canada blood, sweat, and tears
United States Buffdaddy's Paypal Team United States AA

MDL Season 34 is slated to kick off on April 27th.
