Chaos have lost their second European player in recent months due to visa issues

Chaos part ways with smooya

The British star has been released due to visa holdups as a result of COVID-19.

After being placed on the bench on March 20th due to visa issues, Owen "smooya" Butterfield has been released from Chaos due to his visa interview being put on an indefinite hold because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During his short three-month tenure with the organization, smooya was the team's highest rated player, posting a strong 1.32 rating during his time in North America.

The team's largest achievement during this time was making the LAN qualifier for Flashpoint 1 with the team being ultimately invited to the league after falling to Orgless in the qualifier semifinals. Unfortunately for smooya he was only able to play one series in Flashpoint 1 before needing to return to the United Kingdom to renew his visa. Since then, Chaos have been using Logan "Voltage" Long as a stand-in in the league.

As a result, Chaos are now:

  • United States Cameron "cam" Kern
  • Canada Joshua "steel" Nissan
  • United States Anthony "vanity" Malaspina
  • United States Hunter "SicK" Mims
  • United States Matthew "mCe" Elmore (Coach)

Outside of Flashpoint 1, Chaos will need to find a new permanent fifth for ESEA MDL Season 34, which is set to start on April 27th.
