shinobi steps in as Rise's sensei

Advanced side Rise announced late last week that Josh "shinobi" Abastado will take the reins as the team's coach for the near future. When reached by Dust2.us, the former Rogue member noted that it was not a "full-time gig" and that he would maintain his roster spot with Monstars. The MDL side finished their season just outside of playoff contention, finishing with an 11-11 record.

shinobi has filled the coaching role previously, including recently with Monstars prior to returning as a player. He also coached Riot Squad's Academy team, which included current Rise player Alec "halo" Sacry.

After the addition Rise are now:

• Cody "Domorin" Lutzel
• Ken "krotomo" Otomo
• Chris "duck" Dutoit
• Alec "halo" Sacry
• Kevin "consti" Yi
• Josh "shinobi" Abastado (Coach)

Rise finished the regular season with a 10-6 record, good for 15th place heading into the postseason play. The Advanced playoffs are set to begin on Wednesday, March 18th, with matchups yet to be announced.
