#freeswag takes on a new meaning as T1 sign swag after his retirement from professional CS:GO

T1 sign swag

After announcing his retirement from professional CS:GO at the end of February, swag has signed on to T1.

T1 have announced the signing of former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player Braxton "swag" Pierce, with the intention for the 23-year-old to compete in Riot's upcoming title Valorant as well as other FPS games, including as a creator for CS:GO.

swag had announced his retirement from professional CS:GO at the end of February, having not had the opportunity to compete on a top team due to his ban from Valve Majors that dates back to early 2015. The move to T1 sees swag join his first professional team since the release of Lazarus in August 2019, and offers the Valve-banned player his first true opportunity to play at a top level in Riot's upcoming FPS title.

swag was hailed as a prodigy-level talent for much of his career in CS:GO, a title that was overshadowed by the iBUYPOWER ban in 2015. Now, with the backing of T1 and the release of Valorant nearing, it is left to be seen if that talent will translate to the upcoming shooter.
