Northeast Mayhem win NCS Minor in D.C.

sfX's Northeast Mayhem bested Kay's Pocket Change 2-1 in the grand finals.

Jasper "sfX" Ko's Northeast Mayhem have won the November iteration of NCS Minor - Washington D.C., which was held by GEX this weekend. Coming out on top of the 6-team event, Northeast Mayhem claimed the majority of the $2,500 prizepool.

After receiving a round one bye, Northeast Mayhem went on to make quick work of Jawn has been defused, picking up a 16-8 win on Mirage before finishing the series with a one-sided 16-5 victory on Overpass.

Continuing into the winners' finals, Northeast Mayhem faced their first big trial of the event as they faced off against Kay's Pocket Change, a mixteam notably featuring veteran players David "Toy" Han and Jason "neptune" Tran. Starting on Mirage, Kay's Pocket Change shocked Northeast Mayhem as they remained in control for the majority of the map before securing it 16-9.

Moving onto Inferno, Northeast Mayhem finally found their footing, outplaying Kay's Pocket Change to narrowly secure the map 16-12 and force the series onto Overpass.

With the series tied, after an incredibly close 16-14 map on Overpass, Northeast Mayhem made their way to the grand finals. 

In the grand finals, Northeast Mayhem faced off against Kay's Pocket Change once again after they bested Hoes Mad 16-10 in the losers' finals.

Starting on Inferno, Kay's Pocket Change once again began the series in the lead as they found a 16-12 victory after a dominant 12-3 CT-side. 

Moving onto Kay's Pocket Change's map pick of Dust2, Northeast Mayhem managed to take their opponent's map pick 16-12 in part thanks to a massive performance from Thunder Logic player Bryce "PureR" Lovell.

After a close series between these two teams, Overpass ended up being relatively one-sided for Northeast Mayhem as Bron "bron" Mills led the way for his team to take the map 16-6 and secure the tournament victory.

1. United States Northeast Mayhem (sfX, witmer, PureR, JazzPimp, bron) - $1,625
2. United States Kay's Pocket Change (Kay, Hashy, Grave, Toy, neptune) - $625
3. United States Hoes Mad (Temperature, Wiggz, Fdiddy, Zeon, Pause) - $250
4. United States Jawn has been defused (Stx, davd, Neos Dragon, Febreeze, JFive)

With another NCS Minor wrapped, the next NCS event on the calendar will be Fragadelpia 14, which is set to take place on December 13th.
