DEFY add 4pack as cJ steps down; shanks does the hokey pokey

DEFY's ESEA roster saw the departure of two players shortly after they were knocked out from Advanced.

Just three days after being knocked out of Advanced playoffs by ETHEREAL, DEFY's roster has seen a change with Chris "cJ" Jones stepping down from the active lineup.

The former Selfless player has been replaced by Kevin "4pack" Przypasniak, who stepped down from Rap Gang at the end of October ahead of the final week of MDL. Ryan "shanks" Ngo also left DEFY's ESEA roster three days ago; however, Dust2.us has learned that he will still remain with the team for the foreseeable future.

DEFY ended their regular season run in ESEA Advanced Season 32 with a 10-6 record, earning themselves a spot in the double-elimination playoffs. Their campaign there was quickly brought to an end, though, as a 1-2 loss to Faint in their opening upper bracket matchup gave way to a fall in the lower bracket to ETHEREAL, who took a two-map series victory to send DEFY packing in 13-16th.

The core of the team, featuring Jonathan "djay" Dallal as a stand-in for cJ, also conquered at T.O. Strike in Toronto this past weekend, taking down OffBeat 2-1 in the grand finals to win $600.

The DEFY lineup currently looks as follows:

  • Canada Sebastian "retchy" Tropiano
  • Canada Ryan "shanks" Ngo
  • Canada Kevin "poised" Ngo
  • Canada Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen
  • United States Kevin "4pack" Przypasniak
  • United States Chris "cJ" Jones (Substitute)
  • United States Daniel "tropiiical" Elshani (Substitute)

The rest of the playoffs bracket for ESEA Advanced will continue to play out as teams vie for a spot in MDL next season, with another set of matches set to kick off at 9:30 PM EST tonight.
