WESG Closed Qualifier matchups set for Sunday

The quartet of one-day closed qualifiers will determine which four teams will make their way to the male and female regional finals.

WorldGaming have announced the schedules for the four American and Canadian closed qualifiers, which are all set to run on Sunday. Each closed qualifier shares a similar format, with teams competing in a double-elimination bracket, with all matches outside of round one and the grand finals being Bo3s. The grand finals will be a Bo5 while WorldGaming have revised the rules to make all round one matches Bo1. 

Each closed qualifier also has $10,500 up for grabs, with second place claiming $6,000.

Starting off with the American Closed Qualifier, the opening matchups look as follows:

United States eUnited vs.   United States Ascent
United States ATK vs.   United States Envy
United States Ben's Anime Team vs.   United States eUnited/Ascent winner
United States Riot Squad vs.   United States ATK/Envy winner

Moving onto the Canadian Closed Qualifier, the opening matchups are as follows:

Canada Oceanus vs.   Canada Durham Lords
Canada October's Very Own vs.   Canada Able
Canada LiViD vs.   Canada Oceanus/Durham Lords winner
Canada Dogs of War vs.   Canada October's Very Own/Able winner

As for the female closed qualifiers, due to the lack of teams for both regions, the brackets have been slightly adjusted.

In the American female Closed Qualifier with only four teams, the opening matchups are:

United States CLG Red vs.   United States washed
United States Digntias fe vs.   United States Royalty

Over in the Canadian female Closed Qualifier, with only  three teams, the matchups are:

Canada LiViD fe vs.   Canada ANEW
Canada Able fe vs.   Canada LiViD fe/ANEW winner

After the closed qualifiers are completed the top teams from each region will face off agaisnt each other in regional finals which are set to be played out on December 7th in Montreal, Canada. There the two teams will face off in a Bo3 to claim one spot to WESG 2019 and secure the lion's share of a $40,000 prizepool.
