Complexity couldn't stop the flop

ATK overrun Complexity to meet Liquid in ECS Season 8 Week 4 grand final

A headscratching finish to the first map gave way to a dominant performance on Inferno for ATK.

ATK have taken down Complexity in the fourth week of ECS Season 8 in a two-map series, earning themselves a spot against Liquid in the grand finals.

Three kills for Ian "motm" Hardy helped ATK take the T-side pistol round to kick off Complexity's pick of Nuke, but a force-buy allowed Benjamin "blameF" Bremer's side to answer back and take three rounds in reply. ATK were swift in equalizing the score once they were on rifles, with Complexity only managing to post two more rounds in the half for a 10-5 scoreline as they teams swapped sides.

Two rounds from Complexity at the onset of the second half reduced the deficit between the two teams, although a strong showing from Ricky "floppy" Kemery gave ATK the opportunity to notch two of their own to stay in the lead. Complexity replied in kind, but ATK took another three in a row for a 15-9 scoreline, putting themselves in touching distance of a map win.

A comeback seemed to be in the cards as Complexity slowly fought back, managing to put themselves within one round of ATK, but a fumbled 4vs1 situation against Johnny "JT" Theodosiou on round 30 allowed ATK to take the map over the line to edge out a 16-14 victory.

The close scoreline of the first map quickly became a distant memory as ATK's pick of Inferno got underway, with floppy and company jumping up to a nine-round lead to kick off the map. A quad kill from Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan got Complexity their first round to halt the streak, but the team were only able to add a single additional round to their tally as ATK's offense proved too strong for a 13-2 lead at the half. Three USP-S kills from Josh "oSee" Ohm sealed Complexity's fate following the side swap as ATK quickly garnered three final rounds, closing the map 16-2.
