It was all gun blazing as NRG breezed past Sharks in the grand finals

NRG harpoon Sharks to win ECS Season 8 Week 1

NRG claimed a $12,500 bounty for spearing the Sharks that took down Liquid.

NRG have won week one of ECS Season 8, after crushing Sharks 2-0 in the grand finals with decisive wins on Nuke and Mirage.

NRG got off to a solid start on Nuke as they won the first three rounds in a row on their T-side. Sharks were quick to answer back, claiming the next four rounds to secure the lead. Sharks' lead would not last long however, as Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte led the way for NRG as they won the next seven rounds in a row. Sharks managed to find the last round of the half which helped to narrow the round deficit to five rounds.

After switching sides, NRG kept up the pressure winning the next two rounds on their CT-side before Sharks won the next three. NRG would quickly find match point after this before securing Nuke 16-10.

After a rough performance on Nuke, the series continued to go awry for Sharks on Mirage as NRG won the first eight rounds in a row before powering through to an 11-4 half.

On their CT-side, NRG continued to slice and dice Sharks, only allowing the Brazilians one more round before claiming the map 16-5.

Over the course of the series Brehze was NRG's best player with a 1.60 rating and 120.9 ADR.
