Ascent add NEX as coach

NEX makes his return to MDL after two seasons in the lower divisions.

With Season 32 officially set to begin today, Ascent have made one last change as part of their overhaul, bringing in Justin "NEX" McLellan as a replacement for Steven "HeartBreaker" Cropley, Dust2.us has learned.

The addition of NEX caps off a flurry of changes for Ascent, which saw them recently bring on Jonathan "djay" Dallal, Lucas "Fiziq" Blow, and Brandon "BOOBIE" Roberts after spending the majority of the off-season without a full roster.

NEX was last seen in MDL coaching Think Outside the Box during Season 29, leaving the team shortly after they were demoted to Advanced. Since then, he has been relatively inactive, playing the last few seasons in Main and Intermediate.

He will be be replacing the outgoing HeartBreaker, who sources tell us was offered a managerial position within the organization after Joshua "KiiroKami" Kim expressed a desire to work with NEX.

With the addition of NEX, Ascent is now:

  • United States Joshua "KiiroKami" Kim
  • Canada Marc-Andre "NiSMO" Tayar
  • Canada Jonathan "djay" Dallal
  • United States Lucas "Fiziq" Blow
  • United States Brandon "BOOBIE" Roberts
  • United States Justin "NEX" McLellan (Coach)

Ascent are competing in ESEA MDL Season 32, although they currently have no matches scheduled.
