MoMo and Rebo handed malicious activity bans by ESEA

The two Weenie Hut Jr players will be facing malicious activity bans.

Last week, Khizar "MoMo" Rehman came in first for the week in the Rank G standings, landing him the top prize of $1,000. However, after an investigation, ESEA has come to learn that his win was illegitimate.

Earlier today, ESEA made the following announcement:

Recently, during a Rank G match, a player was caught deliberately losing to help his League teammate gain an unfair advantage against those who are playing with utmost competitive integrity. By doing this, the player’s teammate stood to gain $400 for placing higher on the leaderboard.

During the investigation, there was no evidence to suggest that the player who stood to gain the money had premeditated knowledge of the manipulation. However he did deliberately take advantage of the situation when it became known to him. Instead of going along with it, the player should have told his teammate to stop, contacted an admin, or take other action to maintain the integrity of the game. When confronting the player deliberately losing, he admitted to his actions.

Manipulating standings for monetary gain will never be tolerated in Rank G or on ESEA. The players have been punished accordingly.

Dust2.us learned that ESEA were investigating some shenanigans in Rank G a few days ago, with MoMo and his teammate Chris "Rebo" Heindel's names being mentioned. The recent announcement coupled with the pair popping up on ESEA's ban list at the same time, confirms that the duo are the two being referenced in the announcement.

Rebo has been handed a hefty half-year ban for his actions, however, his teammate MoMo received a mere thirty day ban since it could not be proven that he had any prior knowledge of his teammate's activites.

With this, the Rank G standings for the previous week have been adjusted to:
