Just Swing claim final MDL Season 31 Relegation spot over Dogs of War
Just Swing have claimed the final MDL Season 31 Relegation spot tonight after besting Dogs of War 2-1 in the fifth-place decider match. They join Big Frames, absolute mads lads, and heX as the four Advanced teams fighting to secure a spot in MDL for next season.
The series between the two teams began on Overpass, with Dogs of War winning their opening CT pistol and the following two rounds before Just Swing mounted a nearly perfect T-side which saw them win eleven out of the next twelve rounds in a row to claim a 11-4 half. Upon switching sides Just Swing claimed their CT pistol and following two rounds to climb up to thirteen rounds. Dogs of War managed to claim three more rounds before Just Swing won their map pick 16-7.
Moving onto Dogs of War's map pick of Vertigo, they won their second pistol round of the night, but their lead was short-lived as Just Swing claimed the next ten rounds in a row to take the lead 10-2. Trailing heavily behind Just Swing, Dogs of War found the last three rounds of the half to whittle down the round deficit to five rounds. Building off of their momentum from the end of the first half, Dogs of War mounted a perfect CT defense that didn't allow Just Swing to plant the bomb a single time, forcing a third map with a 16-10 scoreline.
On Mirage, Just Swing started off in the lead after winning their T-side pistol and the following eco round and carried this momentum into the rest of the half as they managed to go up 9-2 before Dogs of War regained control to end the half down 6-9. Following the side swap, Just Swing continued to find rounds climbing up to match point with relative ease as Dogs of War struggled to win their post-plants. On match point, Dogs of War found three more rounds before Just Swing managed to take Mirage with a 16-11 scoreline
