StarLadder Major Berlin Americas Minor groups announced
StarLadder have announced the group draw for the upcoming StarLadder Major Berlin Americas Minor, which is set to begin next week on July 17th.
Group A is headlined by NRG and Singularity, who are joined by Brazilian squads oNe and Sharks. This will be the first Minor for Sharks and Singularity, while NRG and oNe are returning teams, with NRG having attended their first Major after winning the IEM Katowice Americas Minor at the start of 2019.
Group B has three South American teams, with eUnited being the sole North American representative. Like NRG, FURIA comes into this Minor after previously attending their first Major following a second-place finish at the IEM Katowice Americas Minor, while eUnited and INTZ unsuccessfully competed in Katowice. As for Luminosity, this will be the organization's first Minor since the ELEAGUE Boston Americas Minor all the way back at the end of 2017.
The team will be debuting with João "felps" Vasconcellos after swapping him and Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles with MIBR, having gotten a last-minute invite after Lazarus were forced to drop out after Cloud9 would not let Tyson "TenZ" play with the team, and Pujan "FNS" Mehta was uninterested in playing with Danny "fRoD" Montaner. Even though StarLadder regarded the loss of TenZ and FNS as "emergency situations" they would not let them add another player to the roster. Interestingly, even though Luminosity added felps after the roster lock, they are allowed to use him due to the team being a "replacement team".
