daps will look to work wonders with another North American organization

Cloud9 overhaul roster with daps, mixwell, koosta, and TenZ

Cloud9 have rolled the dice, with autimatic being the sole player retained from their former roster.

After months of stagnation, Cloud9 have elected to completely overhaul their roster, announcing the signing of Damian "daps" Steele, Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas, Kenneth "koosta" Suen, and Tyson "TenZ" Ngo live on an episode of The 9s. As a result of this change Will "RUSH" Wierzba, Maikil "Golden" Selim, Daniel "vice" Kim, and René "cajunb" Borg have all been moved to the bench.

Additionally, Cloud9 have brought on former Ghost coach James "JamezIRL" Macaulay to take over for Soham "valens" Chowdhury, who will move back to a role as the organization's Head of Data Science as previously planned.

At the helm of this project is former NRG IGL daps, who joins Cloud9 after nearly three years with his former organization. daps was instrumental in NRG's rise, leading the team as they slowly but surely climbed the ranks to become North America’s second-best team. He will be taking over IGL duties from Golden, whose plethora of Cloud9 lineups failed to make an impact.

mixwell has returned to North America after spending over a year with Spanish organization Movistar Riders. The Spaniard is most known for his tenure with the original OpTic lineup, joining the team after being scouted by daps. With mixwell, OpTic notably won ELEAGUE Season 2 after besting Astralis 2-1 in the finals. mixwell's departure from Movistar Riders was announced earlier today.

koosta is the third piece of the puzzle, with the player expected to be taking over the main AWP role on Cloud9. koosta's reputation was largely rehabilitated under Josh "steel" Nissan during their tenure with Ghost, after false starts with Liquid and CLG.

The final addition to the new Cloud9 roster is TenZ. The young Canadian rifler has seen his star rise in the scene over the last year, putting up big numbers on Bad News Bears, Lazarus, and ATK.

According to the organization's press release, RUSH is on the team's bench, while vice and cajunb seemingly have been released.

Cloud9's new roster is now:

  • United States Timothy "autimatic" Ta
  • United States Kenneth "koosta" Suen
  • Canada Damian "daps" Steele
  • Canada Tyson "TenZ" Ngo
  •  Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas
  • United States James "JamezIRL" Macaulay (Coach)

  • United States Will "RUSH" Wierzba (Inactive)
  • Sweden Maikil "Golden" Selim (On loan to NiP)

Cloud9 will be debuting their new roster at Blast Pro Series Los Angeles which is set to begin on July 13th. The schedule for the event was announced earlier today.
