MDL Season 31 regular season concludes; oNe clinch eighth seed

FURIA, Singularity, and ATK picked up the top seeds after each team won 13 games this season.

The last day of the regular season for MDL Season 31 has come to an end, with eight teams clinching their spots in the playoffs.

ESEA hasn't released the official standings for the regular season yet, but they will likely look as follows:

  1. Brazil FURIA
  2. United States Singularity
  3. ATK
  4. United States The Quest
  5. United States Party Astronauts
  6. United States Bad News Bears
  7. United States New Identity
  8. Brazil oNe
  9. United States Ascent
  10. United States ex-Zone
  11. United States Peeker's Advantage
  12. United States Variance
  13. United States BLITZKRIEG
  14. United States Thunder Logic
  15. United States Bushido Boyz
  16. United States Mythic
  17. United States Prospects
  18. United States Chris and the boys

When the dust settled oNe managed to claim the final playoff spot over Ascent, due to oNe besting Ascent back on June 11th. It will be a gut-punch for a roster that nearly made playoffs during their first season of MDL, especially considering Ascent made it through the whole season without a roster change, something no other team that came from relegation managed to do.

At the very bottom of the standings are the now defunct Chris and the boys, and Prospects, Mythic, Bushido Boyz, and Thunder Logic who are all now set to play in relegation. For Mythic, the so-called "gatekeepers of MDL" this will be their first time facing demotion since the current iteration of the roster was promoted from Main all the way back in Season 25.

The playoff bracket would be expected to look as such:

Brazil FURIA -vs- Brazil oNe
ATK -vs- United States Bad News Bears
United States The Quest -vs- United States Party Astronauts
United States Singularity -vs- United States New Identity

The MDL Season 31 playoffs are set to run from June 19th to the 21st and will have special importance this season as four Global Challenge spots are on the line, as well as up to three potential spots in EPL next season.

Following the conclusion of playoffs, MDL Relegation is set to play out on a yet to be announced date, and assuming no MDL teams disband from now until then, it will feature the 14th-17th MDL teams alongside the 2nd-4th place Advanced teams and one potential invited team.
