#5 team in the world FURIA will be taking on Peeker's Advantage in their opening matchup

Americas Minor North America Closed Qualifier bracket released

Running the gamut from #5 in the world to #108, the Closed Qualifier is sure to feature some interesting matches.

StarLadder have released the bracket for the Americas Minor North America Closed Qualifier, which will offer six spots in the Americas Minor alongside South American teams INTZ and Sharks.

The first matchup of the qualifier will see FURIA, currently ranked number five in the world, take on Peeker's Advantage. The Brazilian team will look to make quick work of the David "DAVEY" Stafford-led squad as they look to replicate their strong showings in London and Dallas.  Moving down the bracket, South African squad ATK will be taking on oNe, in a match that will mark the return of Spencer "Hiko" Martin to activity while he stands in for the team as their fifth.

Envy versus Lazarus will be a match of teams attempting to show off their new-look rosters, although Lazarus will be lamenting that they cannot use newly signed player Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker.

After giving up their spot at the Major by releasing Jordan "Zellsis" Montemurro, Cloud9 will be looking to prove they made the right decision by allowing Maikil "Golden" Selim to rebuild the team around his leadership. The Major-winning organization will be taking on MDL side New Identity in their opening match of the qualifier.

Singularity are set to take on Bad News Bears, however the latter team will be unable to use yay due to his recent signing with Lazarus. Dust2.us knows that the Bears' would be permitted to use Jeff "RZU" Ngo in the Closed Qualifier itself, but would not be granted an emergency transfer should they reach LAN.

The final round one matchup has NRG facing off against stream team Mythic, with the Pro League side making their debut with Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz. Should NRG falter, they will certainly be questioned for a sudden change of IGL right before one of the most important qualifiers of the year.

The complete list of opening matchups is as follows:

Brazil FURIA vs.  United States Peeker's Advantage
 ATK vs.  Brazil oNe
Brazil Luminosity vs.  United States Party Astronauts
United States Envy vs.  Canada Lazarus
United States Cloud9 vs.  United States New Identity
United States eUnited vs.  United States The Quest
United States Singularity vs.  United States Bad News Bears
United States NRG vs.  United States Mythic

The first matchups are set to begin tomorrow on the main StarLadder twitch channel here.

Dust2 Birthday cake!
Dang there's potential for upsets here definitely

Most likely I think is Party Astronauts over Luminosity and possibly Bad News Bears over Singularity
