Envy will be Sonic's first foray on an international team

Envy confirm Sonic addition

The Pro League team have signed the South African to replace jdm64.

Envy have announced the signing of South African Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek from ATK.

The move, which was first reported by Dust2.us, sees the player replace Josh "jdm64" Marzano on Envy's starting lineup.

Envy's roster is now:

  • United States Noah "Nifty" Francis
  • United States Jacob "FugLy" Medina
  • United States Sam "s0m" Oh
  • Canada Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor
  •  Aran "Sonic" Groesbeek
  • United States Zachary "Eley" Stauffer (Coach)
  • United States Josh "jdm64" Marzano (Inactive)

Despite the organization's announcement saying that Sonic will debut with Envy in the upcoming Americas Minor Closed Qualifier, the South African has in truth already logged an official with the squad, a 16-12 loss to Grizzlys in the first IEM Chicago qualifier.

With Sonic's departure, ATK are now left with four members. The team have been rounding out their roster in MDL with Tyson "TenZ" Ngo, however that is unlikely to be a long-term solution, as the former Bad News Bears members is set to play with Lazarus in the Americas Minor Closed Qualifier.
