sickLy and company are now able to stay in Brazil thanks to help from SirScoots, among others

Denial players receive financial assistance from SirScoots

The aid means that the team are able to stay in Brazil and bootcamp for the South America Closed Qualifier.

After qualifying to the StarLadder Berlin Major South America Closed Qualifier, Denial’s CS:GO team have found support from industry veteran Scott "SirScoots" Smith, with SirScoots being the "important person" alluded to by Juanes "sickLy" Valencia in a series of tweets yesterday. The CSPPA Advisor has helped fund plane tickets that will allow the team to bootcamp in Brazil in the days leading up to the Closed Qualifier.

Dust2.us also knows that the team have received assistance from other "friends" in Brazil who have "helped [them] to pay [for] a place to compete and train."

Denial's South American CS:GO team qualified to the StarLadder Berlin South America Closed Qualifier after winning a last chance qualifier made available due to DETONA's withdrawal. Denial initially came to Brazil to play in the ESL LA Season 4 Finals, where they finished in 3rd-4th place after falling to W7M.

Following the conclusion of the event Denial's team originally planned to head back to their respective homes, however they later made the decision to stay in Brazil for a bootcamp, as it would be infeasible to have good ping to Brazilian servers.

When contacted by Dust2.us, SirScoots said that the team required financial assistance to attend the event, and that "CS has given [him] so much" that he sees this as giving something back. He also informed us that this is not currently an official CSPPA matter, but the various parties "will cross that bridge if it comes."

This isn't the first time one of sickLy’s teams have received support from the community as two years ago Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo donated $3,000 to VAULT, allowing the Colombian team to bootcamp in Brazil during the leadup to the WESG South American Finals.
