Bad News Bears overcome Singularity to top Mythic Cup 2

After a two-week delay, Bad News Bears bested Singularity 2-1 in the grand finals.

Two weeks after the semi-finals concluded, Bad News Bears have claimed first place in the second Mythic Cup, beating Mythic Cup 1 champions Singularity in a close 2-1 series.

Bad News Bears came into the grand finals sporting a modified roster with Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker and Jeff "RZU" Ngo playing in place of Austin "crashies" Roberts and recently departed member Tyson "TenZ" Ngo.

Starting off the action on Singularity's map pick of Nuke, the team got off to an early start, claiming three of the first four rounds to take an early lead on their CT-side. After this though, Bad News Bears would put up a very strong T-side, netting the next eight rounds in a row to take the lead 9-3. Singularity would halt Bad News Bears aggression with a trio of rounds of their own to close the half with a slight 9-6 lead in Bad News Bears favor.

Trading sides, Singularity were able to retake the lead by claiming six out of the next eight rounds. However, Bad News Bears were able to retake the initiative off the back of a 1v2 clutch by RZU, pushing the scoreline up to 14-12. After this Singularity would find one more round but Bad News Bears would close out map one 16-13.

Moving onto Mirage, a back and forth half saw Singularity come out on top with a slight round advantage 9-6. Singularity looked poised to close map two immediately, as they converted a CT pistol win into five rounds, putting the score massively in their favor 14-6. Bad News Bears were able to stave off defeat for a number of rounds due to individual heroics, including a 1v2 clutch by Mitch "mitch" Semago, however Singularity's round advantage was too tall a hill to climb as they forced the action onto Overpass with a 16-11 finish on Mirage.

On Overpass, Bad News Bears got off to a slight 5-3 lead. After this, Singularity would put a strong CT-side defense netting them five rounds to take the lead 8-5, with the half ending in their favor 8-7.

Moving onto their T-side, Singularity would find the opening pistol and the following eco round, however Bad News Bears would quickly recover and mount an ironclad defense, locking Singularity out and allowing Bad News Bears to run the score to 14-10.  Although Singularity would go on to claim three of the next five rounds, Bad News Bears were able to close out the series 16-13 and win the second Mythic Cup. On Overpass, newly minted Bad News Bears member yay put up a massive performance with a 40-19 K-D and a 2.00 HLTV rating.
