FPL Recap - raz gets a second chance; leaf in the money after return from ban

The past twenty-four hours have surely been a rollercoaster of emotions for raz, who placed second, was kicked, and then added back to FPL.

The third week of April FPL has wrapped up, seeing young phenom Owen "oBo" Schlatter top the ladder and net himself $3,000.

Here are the top ten players from the third week of April:

Recent FPL-C promotees Duncan "raz" Lee and Kaitlin "Katie" Boop followed oBo in second and third place, respectively. But $2,000 was not the only prize raz won, as he was curiously removed from FPL shortly following his finish.

With controversy brewing on Twitter and Reddit, FACEIT Partnerships Manager Milos "Mikey" Nedeljkovic had the following to say on the situation:

And re-added back earlier this morning.

There were legit reasons for a demote, but also legit reasons to stay.

It was our mistake to demote him like this and some players (and himself) managed to change our minds afterwards to give him more time, which i hope he will use well as he did recently.

Just to clarify further: Is a bit of a case of 50+ NA FPL players giving feedback on him, which was given over X period of time, while he started playing a lot better recently, making many of that feedback potentially outdated and we made an oversight here. We will gather fresh one now and see how it goes, but his win/rate currently goes a lot in his favour.

Also making appearances in the top twenty were Ricardo "boltz" Prass and Henrique "HEN1" Teles of Luminosity, who are coming off of topping their ESL Pro League Season 9 group thanks to the wonders of round robin.

Dust2.us knows that in addition to raz's removal and re-addition to FPL, the following players were also demoted:

  • Canada Randy "smiley" Sandoval
  • New Zealand Michael "chelleos" Hawkins
  • United States Robert "robby" Brown
  • United States Malick "dangle" Abid
  • Canada Leighton "vylo" Vieria
  • United States David "Sneaky" Polster
  • United States Blake "Strings" Stringer

The top five players in FPL-C for the third week of April are:

Rank Player Points Prize
1. United States Ryan "Winsum" Johns 1,158 $1250
2. Canada David "J0LZ" Jolin 1,118 $600
3. United States Nathan "leaf" Orf 1,116 $300
4. United States Corbin "C0M" Lee 1,110 $200
5. United States Mike "Swisher" Schmid 1,092 $150

The full standings are available here.

Both Corbin "C0M" Lee and David "J0LZ" Jolin have retained positions at the top, joined by Nathan "leaf" Orf, who makes a triumphant return to FPL-C after receiving a one-month ban due to the recent bribery situation. The player will have plenty of time to play FPL-C, as he was forced to step down from MDL team Zone because he is only fifteen years-old.
