hydrex and Singularity will look to improve on past results at the tournament by NRG and Rogue

Singularity, Dignitas fe, and CLG Red to attend Copenhagen Games

As in previous years, it seems only one male team will brave the trans-Atlantic voyage to Denmark.

It is almost time for Copenhagen Games, everyone's favorite BYOC tournament of the year, and with it comes the tiny pilgrimage of North American teams over to Denmark to test their mettle in international waters.

The most high-profile side that will make the trek are none other than Singularity, which perhaps should not come as a surprise given that the organization itself is Danish. It will mark their second international event, following a debut at the WESG 2018 World Finals in which they made the playoffs.

The team followed up their relative success in China by coming home and finishing their MDL season in the semi-finals after a loss to FURIA, and handily winning the inaugural Mythic Cup. In between, they made the surprise roster change of removing Ian "motm" Hardy. His trial replacement Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman is set to head to Denmark with the team.

The last two North American teams to attend Copenhagen Games, Rogue and NRG, both found disappointment. In 2017, Damian "daps" Steele and NRG were invited to the main tournament, but suffered an upset loss to the Finns of iGame in their group, and then another to Tricked in the quarter-finals. Last year, Spencer "Hiko" Martin and co. were unable to advance past the BYOC portion of the event, but did emerge victorious in the B tournament.

As has mostly been the case since 2015, the ladies of Dignitas and CLG Red are among the teams signed up for the female event. Both will be looking to improve upon their results from last year, where they finished 5th-8th and 3rd-4th, respectively.

This time around, both teams come into the event with some pressure, as Dignitas are once more the defending Intel Challenge Katowice champions, and CLG Red took first at the WESG 2018 World Finals — albeit with a slightly altered roster.

Also signed up for the female event are Assassins, featuring former CLG Red player Klaudia "klaudia" Beczkiewicz.
